Independence Day: Railway police on alert, dog squad deployed at Tatanagar station

Jamshedpur, Aug 14: Superintendent of Rail Police, Tatanagar, has alerted Railway Police Force (RPF) and Government Rail Police (GRP) ahead of Independence Day. Security has been beefed up at railway stations and police visibility has been increased at public places. Dog squads have also been pressed into service to ensure fool-proof security, sources said.

Sources informed that all Railway officials and employees have been alerted and special vigil is being kept at all railway stations. All citizens have been appealed to inform the RPF and GRP officials in case they see or notice any unknown or suspicious thing or person at railway stations. Senior Railway officials are also personally inspecting railway stations to review security arrangements.

A dog squad brought to the station here on Sunday to conduct a thorough security check of its premises. RPF has provided a separate room for the dog squad and a dedicated staff to look after their canine aide, sources said.
