Income Tax sleuths probe tax evasion charges

Noamundi: Income tax department surveyed Padam Kumar Jain Thakurani iron ore mines offices on Wednesday at the offices located in Chaibasa, Noamundi and Barbil in connection with charges of illegal mining and tax evasion.

Padam Kumar Jain mines is a well-known high quality iron ore productive mines of Jharkhand. Sources said there are allegations that PK Jain mines management was involved in large scale illegal mining and tax evasion.

The income tax sleuths arrived here around 11 am and continued till late evening.
