Jamshedpur, Oct. 07: Income Tax Department, Jamshedpur, is celebrating Joy of Giving Week in a bid to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. Started on 2nd October, the weeklong celebrations will conclude tomorrow. This was informed today by Income Tax Commissioner Shyam Kumar.
�The main purpose behind celebrating the Joy of Giving week is to share happiness with the deprived members of our society. We want to feel the joy of giving useful and necessary items to our own brethren. Our Income Tax department is just trying to spread the message of oneness and togetherness as also sought by the Government of India,� said Kumar.
Kumar said the department members will be collecting money and clothes and distribute the same among the needy people.
Several city-based social organizations working for the poor have also been requested to come forward and join hands with the Income Tax department in its noble mission, he said.
