Jamshedpur, April 26: After an FIR was registered against three doctors of MGM hospital on Friday, doctors of Indian Medical Association (IMA) during a strategy meet with Superintendent of MGM Hospital threaten of massive protest if the case registered is not taken back and if any action is taken against the doctors named in the FIR. During a meeting with the Superintendent of Hospital on Saturday doctors of IMA also planned to file a case against obstruction of doctors� work at the Hospital.
It may be noted that a pregnant lady (Pinky Karmakar) resident of Belajuri under MGM Police Station died during treatment at the hospital on Thursday and soon her family members started creating disorder at the spot, also present on the occasion was MLA Ramchadra Sahis.
On Friday husband of the deceased, Lambu Karmakar registered a case of negligence against Dr. K Kujur, Dr. Usha Devi and Dr. Indu at Sakchi Police Station.
According to Police the case is under investigation and on Friday only the police after postmortem handed over the body of Pinky to her family members. Commenting on the issue Secretary of IMA Dr. Mritunjay Singh said if any action is taken against the three doctors the association will be forced to protest.
The medical case where Pinky died was because of low hemoglobin and doctors are not answerable for that, added Dr. Singh. He further said that if case registered is not taken back the doctors will not see the emergency patients and turn to massive protest.
