Jamshedpur, June 27: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has taken serious note of the incident where about 20 to 25 persons forcibly entered Sai Scan and Diagnostic Center Private Limited near Sakchi Aam Bagan Ground, assaulting and threatening the staff. During a press conference held on Thursday, IMA Secretary Dr. Saurabh Chaudhary, President of Jharkhand IRA Dr. Neeraj, Dr. Neelam Jain, Dr. Deepak, and Dr. Sushmita Renu jointly condemned the incident and urged the administration to take strict action against those involved.
Dr. Sudha Jhingan, the 84-year-old Managing Director of Sai Scan, detailed the incident, stating that on June 23, around 5 pm, a patient named Arfa Bano had an ultrasound done at the center, and her report was accurate. The condition known as ovarian torsion, which can resolve on its own, was diagnosed in Arfa Bano. However, her family was unwilling to accept the diagnosis and forcibly entered the center with the intent to cause damage. They verbally abused the employee at the cash counter, created a disturbance, and misbehaved with pregnant women in the waiting room, even threatening to shut down the center.
Dr. Jhingan emphasized that all tests, especially ultrasound reports, were prepared with thorough scrutiny at Sai Scan, and all ultrasound records of that day were saved and available for verification. She called on the administration to take strict action against those involved in the incident to prevent a recurrence not only at Sai Scan Center but also at other medical centers.
She reiterated that Sai Scan Center had always prioritized accurate test results and the well-being of its patients.
