Gamharia, March 11: Kandra police raided an illegal liquor distillery on the banks of a river in Burudih village on Saturday. They destroyed the distillery along with 200 kg Jawa Mahua recovered during the raid. They confiscated 15 litres of hooch manufactured at the distillery. According to Rajendra Prasad Mahato, officer-in-charge of Kandra PS, the distillery owner, Dilip Mandal, escaped from the scene. An FIR has been registered against him, said the OC.
