IIT ISM Dhanbad Student Secures Second Place at International Quant Championship

Dhanbad, Oct 24: Sumit Kumar, a second-year B.Tech. student in Engineering Physics at IIT ISM Dhanbad, achieved second place at the 2025 International Quant Championship (IQC) held in Singapore. The championship, organized by World Quant, saw participation from nearly 80,000 students and professionals worldwide.

Sumit demonstrated exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, securing the first runners-up position in this prestigious global competition. He was guided by Prof. Shashank Bansal from the Department of Management Studies & Industrial Engineering.

An IIT ISM official said, “The International Quant Championship, organized annually by World Quant, is one of the most respected competitions in the fields of quantitative finance, data analytics, and computational modelling. It provides a global platform for participants to test their skills in data-driven decision-making.”
