IIMM Jamshedpur hosts ‘CPO Meet’ at Center for Excellence

Jamshedpur, May 30: The Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM), Jamshedpur Branch, achieved yet another milestone with the successful organization of a ‘CPO Meet’ at the Center for Excellence. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Chief Procurement Officer of Tata Steel, Ranjan Sinha, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Sidhartha Dash, Chairman of IIMM Jamshedpur Branch, set the tone with a welcome presentation, shedding light on the branch’s new initiatives aimed at enhancing the skill sets of industrial staff and contractors. These initiatives underscore IIMM Jamshedpur’s commitment to becoming a pivotal player in professional development within the industry in and around Jamshedpur.

Emphasizing the goal of expanding membership intake, Dash outlined plans to broaden IIMM’s reach and impact in line with the challenges posed by Industry 4.0 and India’s ambitious 5 Trillion Dollar economy target.

Vice President (East) of IIMM, Rana Das, discussed upcoming digital interventions aimed at modernizing and elevating the branch’s operations. These digital transformations are poised to streamline processes and foster greater engagement among members and stakeholders, while also highlighting IIMM’s role in global Supply Chain Management.

Ranjan Sinha, CPO of Tata Steel, highlighted the paradigm shift from materials management to supply chain management, emphasizing the management of risk and sustainability in the supply chain. He underscored the potential growth of Odisha and the opportunity for materials management professionals from Jharkhand and Odisha to collaborate for overall development.

In a similar vein, A K Srivastava emphasized how IIMM can contribute to the professional development of Tata Steel professionals and supplier partners in areas such as risk and sustainability management.
