IHRA delegation meets DC

Jamshedpur: A delegation of members of International Human Rights Association(IHRA) met the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum on Wednesday and demanded cleaning of drains and culverts across the city.

The outfit members said many culverts in the city were encroached at various places. Due to encroachment, such culverts are getting blocked during rains, they said.

The outfit leader Arun Kumar Singh said a 50 feet wide culvert had been reduced to 10 feet width by encroachers.

He said the culvert had also been filled with garbage leading to flooding of nearby areas during rains.

He said the district administration should restore the culverts to their original dimensions as per old map.
