Jamshedpur, July 4: Zonal IG Akhilesh Jha visited Jamshedpur on Thursday, where he conducted a crucial meeting with district police officials including Kolhan DIG Manoj Ratan Chauthe, SSP Kishore Kaushal, Rural SP Rishabh Garg, all DSPs, and police station in-charges.
During the meeting, IG Akhilesh Jha expressed his displeasure over the rising crime rate in the city, particularly the increase in road accident fatalities. He provided insights on accident-prone zones, causes of accidents, and strategies to mitigate these incidents.
Despite Jamshedpur’s improved crime control performance in 2023, IG Jha noted a surge in crimes such as robbery, snatching, and theft in 2024. He issued directives to all officials on crime reduction strategies. Additionally, he highlighted the Supreme Court’s attention to road accident fatalities and discussed measures to decrease these deaths.
IG Akhilesh Jha was earlier welcomed at the police headquarters with a guard of honor.
