If one is committed, Civil service exam is one of the easiest: IAS mentor

Jamshedpur, July 14: Civil service exam is one of the easiest exams if one is committed, accompanied by a good strategy.

If one is not committed then alone coaching cannot do anything, One should be pro-active and develop a positive road map to excel, said renowned IAS mentor Manish Gautam addressing the students at a seminar on “How to crack civil services exam” organised by ETEN ALS IAS, Jamshedpur centre at Rabindra Bhawan.

Manish Gautam, who is presently a faculty of ALS advised the students to consider civil service exam as one of the easiest. He substantiated his statement by saying that the successful candidates are not those who are brilliant, but mediocre students who are committed and hardworking.

“If you want to be successful, you have to remain committed for 18 months. You need not be extraordinarily brilliant, but you need to work consistently for one and half year with proper strategy and planning,” he remarked. “When you have decided to pursue for civil service as a career, consider it as a religion you follow. Discipline and consistency is the key to success,” he added.

Stating that the pattern of civil service exam has undergone a sea change, he reminded the aspirants that “it is important for them to understand the need and requirement of the exam.”

“Unlike the past, it is important that you read newspapers, journals, articles and editorials and also surf the internet and check out the government websites,” he said adding that reading newspaper is of paramount importance.

He also encouraged the aspirants to train themselves well on writing as it will be the decider at the end of the day. Of all, it’s your quality communication skill that is going to decide whether you will succeed as a civil aspirant. How well you pen down on the exam day will be the decider,” he said.

He concluded saying that the teaching faculty can just assist the candidates up to 20 % and the rest will depend on the approach of the concerned candidate.

He termed the opening of ETEN ALS IAS, Jamshedpur Centre as “wonderful opportunity” for many who cannot afford to go to Delhi for coaching purpose. Assuring that ETEN ALS IAS is ready to help and support the aspirants in all possible manners.
