Jamshedpur, May 31: The Jamshedpur branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), under the Central India Regional Council (CIRC), organized a one-day seminar on ‘GST Compliance in Tax Audit and Tax-Related Issues in Charitable Trusts/NGOs’ on Saturday at Beldih Club, Jamshedpur.
The seminar featured insightful sessions from prominent chartered accountants. CA Ankur Kumar Gupta addressed the practical challenges in tax audit, emphasizing that clarity and consistency were essential for conducting effective audits, as CAs frequently faced real-world hurdles in the audit process.
CA Jayendra Kumar Tiwari highlighted the critical role of GST compliance in accurate tax reporting. He warned that even minor errors in compliance could lead to major consequences, reinforcing the importance of meticulous reporting.
CA Mukesh Kumar Singh shared his expertise on tax matters concerning NGOs and charitable trusts, stating that a robust audit mechanism was vital for ensuring transparency in the social sector. He suggested tailoring the tax audit process to better suit the unique requirements of NGOs.
In his welcome address, Branch Chairman CA Kaushalendra Das stated that the objective of the seminar was to equip chartered accountants with updated knowledge and practical tools. Over 100 chartered accountants from the city participated in the knowledge-sharing event.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by CA Chetan Agarwal. The event was conducted by Branch Secretary CA Rishi Arora, with active support from CA Anand Agarwal, CA Yogesh Sharma, and CA Mukund Kedia.
Several senior professionals including CA Jagdish Khandelwal, P. N. Sanghari, Rajesh Agarwal, Rakesh Sakuja, Vineet Mehta, Ajay Singh, Manoj Agarwal, Bhishan Agarwal, Rakesh Jha, Binod Saraiwala, Daya Shankar, Sanjay Sharda, Satbir Bhatia, Vikash Kedia, and Ravi Gupta were present and contributed to the discussions.
