Jamshedpur: An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter was forced to land at Baghuria ground in Galudih in Ghatsila subdivision on Thursday after it developed snag.
It was on its way to Ranchi from West Bengal when its pilot decided to make an emergency landing due to some technical problem.
There were two pilots, eight IAF officers and four CRPF jawans on board. The team was sent to West Bengal on deployment during Lok Sabha elections.
Galudih police and CRPF jawans rushed to the spot for the protection of the IAF chopper and jawans in the Naxalite-hit area. The helicopter was repaired around 10.50 am.
It may be mentioned here that former MP of Jamshedpur Sunil Mahato was shot dead by Naxalites in Baghuria on 4th March, 2007.
