I-T survey at the office of civil contractor at Sakchi

Jamshedpur: A team of Income Tax department officials conducted a survey at the office of civil contractor Mahendra Bhagat here on Thursday.

The survey was carried out at Chandrabali Udyan, Kasidih, where Bhagat�s office is situated. It started at 9 am and continued till evening.

Local police officials were deputed outside the office to keep an eye on visitors and stop unwanted entry into the building. The I-T team was led by Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax Ashish Kumar.

Sources said Bhagat had reportedly not filed Income Tax return for the last three years. The I-T officials said they were studying several documents found at Bhagat�s office.
