Jamshedpur, Aug 16: The 76th Independence Day was celebrated with fervour at Xavier School, Gamharia, on Monday. The chief guest of the occasion was Dr SS Razi, Vice Chancellor of Arka Jain University. He hoisted and saluted the National Flag.
Addressing the students, he said freedom was meaningless without education and health. He further stressed the need to follow strict discipline in life and appealed to all students to become disciplined to achieve greater heights and do something for the country.
The students presented a cultural programme on this occasion. Principal Father Dr Tony Raj wished one and all on Independence Day and administered the pledge of faithfulness to the nation.
The winners of various contests organized recently were felicitated during the programme.
