Jamshedpur: An awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was organized at Excel India Model School in Murakati, Birsanagar, on Wednesday.
The chief guest of the occasion Dr Indu Chouhan said that maintaining personal hygiene was important for children as they may fall sick frequently.
She said that one may keep 70 per cent common diseases at bay by maintaining personal hygiene and keeping our surroundings clean.
She stressed the need for everyone to wash their hands regularly before meals to remain healthy round the year.
The school principal Mamata Kumari and other teachers too, spoke on hygiene and its impact on health.
