Ranchi: Hussainabad market remained closed on Tuesday following attack on Rameshwar Ram, president of Hussainabad Nagar Panchayat in Palamu.
Ram, who was shot in his abdomen in his house by three motorcycle-borne assailants, was taken to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science.
Ram�s condition was reportedly serious. Sources said he was shot at in his house by three assailants who barged into his house in the morning. Ram was shot at from close distance.
The culprits escaped from the scene before anyone could rush in to see them, sources said.
The local MLA Sanjay Yadav said the spurt in crime was condemnable and should be controlled at any cost.
