Human chain creates awareness among voters in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: As part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP )program, citizens of the city formed a human chain here on Friday to spread the message among voters to exercise their franchise to strengthen democracy. The chain was spread 53 KM. It was stretched from Sakchi- Dimna, Sakchi-Kadma and Sakchi-Telco. �

The district administration succeeded in making a Human Chain with help of over 2000 students and other citizens, in order to create voter awareness. Students holding placards sensitized voters about the importance of voting. Special children and senior citizens were also part of the initiative.

A human chain activity for voter awareness was organised under the SVEEP program of district administration with the main objective of making everyone aware of the importance of vote and democracy.

Returning officer Amit Kumar, SSP Anoop Birtharay were also part of the drive. Kumar motivated the school students. He said that  in order to create awareness and bring change it is the youth�s input,which will bring the major change in this initiative�. It is necessary for everyone to vote in order to make a change in our country.

He noted that this initiative will motivate people for coming state elections. With help of this, people can vote for the right leader.

The Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency that has 15,51,297 voters had recorded 66.38 per cent of voting 2014. A total of 10.49 lakh voters exercised their franchise in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency that comprises the following six Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments Baharagora Ghatshila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West.
