Huge new coal reserves found in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh

Ranchi: Central Coalfields Limited’s (CCL0 Rajrappa area located in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand has got a new boon. Huge new reserves of coal have been discovered during the drilling being done by CMPDI in various parts of Rajrappa area. This was confirmed by CCL Rajrappa Area General Manager PN Yadav in the press conference. The General Manager said that the expansion plan of Rajrappa area has been strengthened by the discovery of new reserves. From here, coal production will now be ensured for the next three to 5 years.

The General Manager informed that drilling has been done in DLF, Section 1, Section 2 and Sub Station. It has been found that there is coal here. He told that initially this coal can be produced for the next three to 5 years. The General Manager said that after demolishing the DLF plant, coal production will start here soon. At present, only after drilling 3100 meters, huge reserves of this coal have been detected. Drilling up to 4000 meters is proposed to discover coal.

He said that CCL Rajrappa Project will now be able to become self-sufficient in coal production, coal dispatch and rack loading. It may be known that the Rajrappa project has been struggling with the problem of coal for the last several years. After hard work and team work, the target of coal production is being achieved, in such a situation, Rajrappa area has got a lifeline due to the availability of huge reserves of new coal. GM informed that Rajrappa project has made considerable growth in coal production, coal dispatch and rake loading.

Compared to the financial year 2022-23, till August of this financial year, there has been a growth of 51% in coal production, 85% in coal dispatch and 25% in rake loading. In this way, Rajrappa’s turnover has been 103% while the net profit has reached 160%.
