Ranchi: Jharkhand witnessed rains at several places as a result of increased cyclonic activities in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.
Clouds were seen floating across the sky since morning. Intermittent rain was seen at several places. The director of Ranchi met office BK Mandal said the people of the state need not worry since the cyclone was not likely to cause much damage to the state.
He however asked the people to exercise precaution. He said the Met department was keeping an eye on Hudhud and monitoring the situation. He said the cyclone will weaken in the next several hours.
Chief Secretary Sajal Chakravarty said the major impact of Hudhud may be seen in West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum and Simdega.
He said the crisis management department was keeping an eye on the situation.
