HRD Minister rebukes officials for filing erroneous status reports of schools

Promises infrastructure and electricity in every school by 2018

Jamshedpur, July 19: State HRD minister Neera Yadav, who is also in-charge of East Singhbhum district, on Thursday chaired a divisional level meeting of education department at Andhra Association, Kadma. Many representatives from East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan attended the meeting.

Yadav said that the department is initiating a number of plans to address the problems plaguing it for the last many years. She rebuked the officials of education department for negligence over filing wrong status reports of the districts’ schools. She said the state HRD department is trying its best to meet lack of teachers in schools and colleges of the state. The minister also promised electricity and infrastructure to schools within a timeframe of 2018.

“We want to provide quality education across the State and steps are being taken. This was the first time in many years that we recruited teachers for primary and middle schools. Though there have been anomalies in some areas but that we only came to know when we started working. We are organising a review meeting every month to address the existing problems. Our aim is to ensure quality education we will also work to improve infrastructure,” said Yadav while speaking to the media at the local Circuit House here today.

“Building infrastructure is in government schools is also our focus area. We are working on it and will ensure desks and benches in each and every government school till 2017. We will also provide electricity to all schools by the year 2018,” she added.
