Housewife commits suicide in Jamshedpur, parents suspect dowry death

Jamshedpur, Mar 14: A housewife Bina Devi (31) was found hanging from the ceiling of her room at Kumharpada in Sonari thana on Sunday. 
She was taken out from the ceiling fan and rushed to Tata Main Hospital where doctors declared her as brought dead. 
However, Bina’s parents have alleged that their daughter was tortured for dowry by in-laws and murdered and body hung from ceiling fan to hide evidence. They have lodged a case against in-laws at Sonari thana. Police took the husband Pawan into custody while other members of the in-laws are absconding. 
According to information, Mango resident Bina Devi was married to Sonari resident Pawan Lal on August 1, 2020 and the parents alleged that ever since marriage she was harassed for dowry and she had narrated about her problems to parents. 
Police are probing into the allegation. 
Meanwhile, a 62-year-old Nitai Gorai of Kapali Basti under Sonari thana also hanged himself to death at his house in the basti on Sunday. Both the bodies have been sent for post mortem at the MGM Medical College.
