Hotel Alcor case: Court completes hearing process, verdict on bail petition today

Jamshedpur: The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Manoj Kumar on Thursday completed the hearing required for bail pleas of Rajeev Dugal, owner of Hotel Alcor in Bistupur , Jamshedpur, Jugsalai-based railway contractor Rajesh Mangotia alias Laddu Mangotia, industrialist Sharad Podar, Raju Bhalotia, Deepak Agarwal, Rahul Agarwal and Rajat Jaggi, accused in operating prostitution racket at Hotel Alcor. The petition was heard on Thursday. The court completed the hearing and has withheld verdict to be announced on Friday. The hearing process was held through an app.

Meanwhile, Hotel manager Dhananjay Kumar, a Kolkata-based woman, accused in the same case, had not filed a bail application. All the accused have been in jail since April 29. The hotel owner Dugal and the railway contractor Mangotia had filed an application in the Jharkhand High Court seeking dismissal of the FIR lodged and relief from the case, which has not been heard so far. An FIR was lodged against the accused at Bistupur police station on the complaint of CCR DSP Arvind Kumar. On 25 April, Bistupur police team, led by a magistrate had raided the hotel in lockdown. Railway contractor Mangotia, Rajat Jaggi and Deepak Agarwal were caught from the hotel.

Those arrested were  The Alcor Hotel’s owner Rajiv Dugal, hotel manager Dhananjay Singh, Sharad Poddar, Rahul Agrawal and the girl who is a resident of Kolkata was staying at the hotel.
