Hope new Governor’s ‘blessings’ remain with us: Jharkhand CM

Ranchi, February 18: Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren who was present as the chief guest during the Mahashivratri festivity at the Pahadi Mandir in Ranchi drew parallel with the of Shiva blessing with Governor.

On Mahashivaratri, a grand Shiva procession was taken out from the hill temple of Ranchi on Saturday. Chief Minister Hemant Soren sent off the Shiv Baraat by performing the aarti of Shiva-Parvati after offering prayers at the hill temple. 

Addressing the people on this occasion, the  Chief Minister said that it is a matter of pride and that we wait for this festival throughout the year.

“It is a matter of pride and we wait for this festival for one year. This is our tradition, which we have been following for years. It is that on the auspicious occasion of Shivratri, the new Governor of our state has also taken oath. We only hope that the way Pahari Baba’s blessings are on all of us, in the same way the new Governor’s blessings remain on us,” said Soren.

The statement assumes significance with the former Governor Ramesh Bais who took oath as the Governor of Maharashtra on Saturday had difference of opinion with the chief minister and the government on several occasion.

The chief minister had openly criticised the then Governor of colluding with BJP for keeping silence on the Election Commission’s letter on his purported disqualification as MLA to destabllise the government.

Earlier, in the day, vteran BJP leader from Tamil Nadu CP Radhakrishnan on Saturday took the oath of office as the 11th governor of Jharkhand at the Raj Bhavan.

Acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Aparesh Kumar Singh administered the oath of office and secrecy to Radhakrishnan, 65, at a ceremony attended by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, state ministers, MPs and MLAs.

“I have full faith that your guidance will always be available for the all-round development of the state,” Soren said in a tweet, congratulating the new governor.
