Homeless demanding rights molested at ADC office

Jamshedpur, Feb. 10: Demanding adequate social security measures and access to government entitlements for families who don�t have their homes, they have their identity cards and don�t have access to government schemes and live a life by begging on the streets, members of Bal Majdoor Mukti Seva Sansthan along with several families protested before the DC office on Wednesday.

The members when arrived at ADC office to submit a memorandum, the body guard of ADC abused the members and later they were pushed out of ADC�s chamber.

The patron of the Sansthan Sadan Kumar Thakur was also molested. Later the members of the Sathan held a sit in protest before the DC office demanding transfer of ADC Sunil Kumar and suspension of his bodyguard.

The members were seen holding indefinite strike and on the assurance of SDO Suraj Kumar, the protest ended at 8.30 pm.

On the occasion SDO asked the members to give a written complain on Thursday for their demands. Earlier in the afternoon at 1 pm Dhalbhum SDO Suraj Kumar and other administrative officials tried to intervene and comprehend in the matter but of no use.

The members were in no mood to compromise below transfer and suspension. The district administration taking no risk deployed several police personnel in the deputy commissioner premises.

The area around was crowded all over the day. Late in the evening all the members along with several families gathered near ADC office with their demands. Sadan Thakur of the Santha said, what king of democracy is this where poor can�t beg for their rights.

Kedarnath Bhartiya also part of the protesting team said, all was normal when we reached the DC office premises with the demands.

DC was not present so we decided to submit the memorandum to ADC Sunil Kumar where they allowed to enter one person but three-four people entered his chamber and were thrown out and harassed Sadan Kumar Thakur. Bal Majdoor Mukti Seva Santhan has been trying to bring the poor families living in the roads to mainstream of the society.
