Jamshedpur: With the resonant chant of ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ filling the air in temples, the auspicious month of Sawan (Shravan) began on Monday, marking a significant period for devotees. The first Monday of Shravan, known as ‘Shravan Somvar,’ holds special reverence for Lord Shiva. Thousands of devotees were witnessed standing in long queues to offer ‘bel patri’ (wood apple leaves) and milk to the deity. The city’s temples experienced a remarkable influx of devotees congregating to participate in religious rituals and seek blessings.
