Saraikela, Nov. 9: A district-level men’s and women’s hockey and soccer competition was organised at the Birsa Munda Stadium here as part of Jharkhand Foundation Day celebrations under the aegis of Arts Culture Sports and Youth Affairs Directorate.
Soon after the inaugurating of the competition, Seraikela-Kharsawan deputy development commissioner Iqbal Alam Ansari and district education officer Ram Hari Shankar were introduced to the players. Teams from Kharsawan, Chandil and Kuchai teams emerged victorious in the competition and secured their place in the state-level competition.
The selected teams will leave for Ranchi on November 10 and 11 to represent the district in the state-level competition.
Pinaki Ranjan, Sanjay Das Sundi Kedar, Nilchand Barik, Paul Hembram and Dhananjay played an important role in the success of their respective teams.
