Seraikela, Oct 17: A moment of immense pride and recognition for Seraikela-Kharsawan district as it received a prestigious national honour for exemplary tribal development initiatives.

The award was presented to the deputy  commissioner Nitish Kumar Singh  by  the President of India at the “Aadi Karmyogi Campaign National Conclave” held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

Under the “Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Participatory Campaign”, Seraikela-Kharsawan emerged as one of the top-performing districts in the country, reflecting outstanding achievements in tribal empowerment, inclusive development, innovative administration, and community engagement.

Simultaneously, the “Aadi Karmyogi Campaign” recognized Jharkhand as the best-performing state, while Pakur district earned accolades as the country’s top-performing district.

Key Achievements of Seraikela-Kharsawan

Infrastructure Development: Significant progress in housing, roads, education, nutrition, drinking water, and livelihoods in tribal villages.

Comprehensive Tribal Development: Persistent efforts towards 100% saturation in developmental programs.

Governance & Rights: 132 PESA-enabled panchayats; 67 panchayats under the Forest Rights Act covering 311 villages.

Education: 818 primary schools, 502 middle schools, 101 high schools (total 1,421 schools); 28 operational hostels; 4,001 trained teachers.

Child & Health Services: 1,373 Anganwadi centers; 14 Primary Health Centers (PHC), 8 Community Health Centers (CHC).

Skill Development: 5,793 beneficiaries under DDU-GKY; 705 training batches under State Skill Mission.

Digital Empowerment: 199 Digital Learning Centers promoting e-literacy and education access.

These achievements have significantly enhanced the quality of life in tribal communities, creating a model of inclusive development nationally recognized for its impact.

The coordinated efforts in education, nutrition, health, livelihood, and digital empowerment have set a benchmark for tribal development across India.

Alongside Seraikela-Kharsawan, the contributions of Jamtara, Simdega, and Lohardaga districts were also acknowledged for their effective implementation of these transformative programs.

This national recognition not only elevates Seraikela-Kharsawan’s profile on the country’s development map but also instills a sense of pride among its residents, proving that innovative governance, strong community participation, and focused leadership can create an effective model of inclusive growth, even with limited resources.
