Jamshedpur, Mar 29:  The city witnessed a majestic Hindu New Year procession today, organized by various groups, including the Hindu Jagran Manch and the Hindu Utsav Samiti.

Thousands of devotees participated with great enthusiasm, waving saffron flags, chanting religious slogans and joining in the spiritual fervor of the occasion.

The Hindu Jagran Manch procession began from the Old Durga Puja Ground near Agrico Roundabout, passing through Bhalubasa and Sakchi Bada Roundabout, before culminating at Sakchi Subhash Maidan (Aam Bagan Ground) with a grand Bharat Mata Aarti.

The event showcased a series of breathtaking tableaus, including Shri Ram Darbar, Shiv Baraat and Bharat Mata, drawing large crowds.

Adding to the spectacle, performances depicting Lord Krishna lifting Govardhan Hill, Hanuman carrying the Sanjeevani mountain and Goddess Durga slaying Mahishasura captivated the audience.

The procession also featured Shiv Tandav dance performances and displays of traditional weaponry, symbolizing the valor and heritage of Hindu culture.

Simultaneously, the Hindu Utsav Samiti took out an equally grand procession from Mango Dimna Road Transport Nagar, where a 21-foot-high statue of Lord Ram served as the main attraction.

The streets resonated with the sounds of devotional songs as Matri Shakti led a massive gathering of Ram devotees in a march towards Sakchi Subhash Maidan.

Along the way, more mythological scenes were enacted, including Bhishma Pitamah lying on the bed of arrows and Arjuna receiving the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita from Lord Krishna.

The event concluded with a Bharat Mata Aarti, performed by 21 priests, blessing the city and its residents with divine energy.

To maintain order and ensure a smooth flow of the processions, 200 volunteers were deployed for law enforcement and traffic management.

Dr. Kavita Parmar emphasized that this year’s event saw a significant increase in women’s participation, making it a more inclusive and vibrant celebration.

The entire city was immersed in a festive atmosphere, with roads and squares adorned with flags, banners and decorative lights. The event was not just a religious observance but a grand cultural celebration, uniting people in devotion and pride for their traditions.

With its spectacular tableaus, engaging performances and overwhelming participation, this year’s Hindu New Year celebration in Jamshedpur will be remembered as a truly extraordinary and spiritual experience.

Saryu Roy’s intervention leads to unified procession in Mango

Jamshedpur, Mar 29: A significant development occurred in Mango regarding the Hindu New Year procession. Initially, two separate processions were planned, but MLA Saryu Roy stepped in to mediate and proposed a unified march instead.

On Saturday morning, Hindu Utsav Samiti patron Upendra Singh Mastan and Hindu New Year Procession president Sarvjeet Tiwari met with Saryu Roy at his Bistupur residence. Roy expressed his concern over the idea of conducting two separate processions, considering it unnecessary.

Following discussions, both groups agreed with Roy’s suggestion and consented to organize a single grand procession. They also requested him to lead the event, a responsibility he gladly accepted. As a result, the combined rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of both groups, ensuring a harmonious and spirited celebration.
