Jamshedpur: Steel City here prepared itself for the grand Hindu Nav Varsh Yatra going to be organized tomorrow. The Yatra will start at Dimna, Mango and conclude at Aam Bagan ground (Subhash Maidan). Several thousand people are expected to participate in the event being organized under the aegis of Hindu Nav Varsh Yatra Organizing Committee. The Yatra will be organized at two different places across the city. The second Yatra will be taken out from Transport Maidan, Agrico, and conclude at Subhash Maidan.
East Singhbhum district administration has made tight security arrangements in view of the Nav Varsh celebration. Several Hindu outfits have joined hands to make the event a grand success. District administration will be pressing into service several contingents of armed police personnel to keep peace during the Yatra. It has already announced no entry for heavy vehicles from 6 am till 11 pm for tomorrow. Buses will be allowed entry into the city during the programme, sources said.
Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav has reportedly directed the officials concerned to keep vigil across the length and breadth of the Yatra. The organizers have been asked to follow decorum and not play any provocative or indecent songs during the Yatra. Hooliganism will not be allowed at any cost, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar said the city police had made adequate security arrangements for the Yatra. He said the Nav Varsh revelers should stick to discipline and follow safety rules while on road.
Yesterday, Ram Babu Tiwary, president of Hindu Nav Varsh Yatra organizing committee, had appealed to all sections of the society to participate in the Yatra and make it a big event. He appealed to youths to honour the Hindu way of life and attend the event in large numbers. “I firmly believe that this Hindu Nav Varsh Yatra succeeds in uniting all people and makes them proud Hindus. All Santanis should unite and participate in the Yatra. BJP state organizing general secretary Karmavir Jee and senior Pracharak of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh Dr Suman Jee will be addressing the participants of the event,” said Tiwary.
