Hill Top School hosts IIMUN Jamshedpur, 109 delegates participating

Jamshedpur, Jan. 7: Hill Top School in collaboration with IIMUN for the first time is organizing Hill Top School Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) Jamshedpur Chapter 2017. The two-day event kicked off on Saturday, January 7. 109 delegates from various schools of Jamshedpur are participating in the event.

The Chief Guests for the event on Saturday were S.B. Borwankar, Executive Director, Quality, Tata Motors Ltd., Jamshedpur and A.B.Lall, Head, Jamshedpur Plant, Tata Motors.

At the inauguration program- Principal of Hill Top Mrs Puneeta B Chouhan addressed the gathering. She emphasized the need for preparing youth to galvanize the world affairs by training the youth for diplomacy through the forum of IIMUN. The Director General, Arnav Javeri & Secretary General, Manov Bhowmick emphasized the importance of bringing IIMUN to Jamshedpur in order to address the bigger issues of the country.

The Chief Guests S.B. Borwankar and A.B.Lall congratulated the school for the tremendous exposure, through the IIMUN forum, to the youth of Jamshedpur. The program included a colourful invocation to Lord Ganesha, a vibrant bhangra and a soulful orchestra presentation.

Several committees including United Nations Security Council,Disarmament and International Security Council (DISEC), Lok Sabha and International Press (IP) have been formed and discussions are under way.

IIMUN is a student organization that simulates the workings of the United Nations for school students to engage in thoughtful debate and discussions about international relations, current affairs and world politics.

The students that take part come together to represent world diplomats and experience the true depths of a technical topic that they can choose from a plethora of agendas and learn what it feels like to be a diplomat.

IIMUN was founded in the year 2012 by a group of college friends led by Rishabh Shah. The IIMUN team has now become the only Indian team to be invited to the United Nations General Assembly for a Model UN workshop.
