In Jamshedpur East, the BJP’s Purnima Sahu is heading towards a significant victory. Sahu leads by 27,355 votes, with 63,831 votes to her name. Congress candidate Ajoy Kumar trails behind with 36,476 votes, while Independent candidate Shiv Shankar Singh lags further with only 8,538 votes. Sahu’s strong showing underscores the BJP’s hold on this urban constituency, where development and infrastructure remain key electoral issues.

Potka: A Nail-Biter Between JMM and BJP
The tribal-dominated Potka constituency has emerged as a battleground with an edge-of-the-seat contest between the JMM’s Sanjib Sardar and the BJP’s Meera Munda. Sardar is leading by a wafer-thin margin of 1,149 votes, with 64,275 votes against Munda’s 63,126. This close race highlights the BJP’s efforts to reclaim its influence in a JMM stronghold. In Jamshedpur West, Saryu Roy of the Janata Dal (United) is maintaining a comfortable lead, with 50,041 votes, outpacing Congress heavyweight Banna Gupta by 26,542 votes. Gupta has secured 23,499 votes, while Independent candidate Shambhu Nath Choudhary trails significantly with only 1,213 votes. Roy’s popularity and reputation as an anti-corruption crusader appear to have resonated with voters in this constituency.
