Jamshedpur, Sept. 13: JMM working president Hemant Soren today attacked at the Seraikela-Kharsawan police for dropping murder charges against lynching of Tabrez Ansari. He said the
state bureaucrats are acting as BJP agents. Soren was addressing a rally at the Agrico ground here this evening. In fact it was the launch function of third phase of Badlav Yatra.
Yesterday PM Narendra Modi had described Jharkhand as the launching pad of welfare schemes. But in reality it is becoming lynching pad of the country. The mob lynching of a youth in Seraikela Kharsawan in June and the subsequent role of the district police in dropping murder charges against the accused, most of whom are BJP sympathizers despite autopsy clearly shows grievous injuries.
Soren announced to give 27 per cent reservation to backward castes if the JMM forms the government in Ranchi. He alleged that an unprecedented loot was on in Gujarat, Maharashtra and other states under the influence of the BJP. He said the JMM would award contracts up to Rs 25 crore to the domiciles of Jharkhand.
Questioning the intentions of the Central government on the issue of providing 10 per cent reservation of economically weaker sections (EWS) of Sawarnas, he said, The government promises to give 10 per cent reservation to those who are not even five per cent of the states population. But the government is doing nothing for those having 60 per cent population in the state.
The JMM leader reminded the masses about the false promises of five-time Jamshedpur East MLA- cum-Chief Minister Raghubar Das about giving them ownership rights.
Soren said that the State Government has failed in every sector. Whether it is employment policy or CNT Act-SPT Act or fighting against corruption, the Raghubar Das government has failed miserably during the past five years of its rule. It has also lost its credibility.
He claimed that the Raghubar -led government in the state had made several announcements at the time of elections but miserably failed to deliver on all fronts. Soren said that the BJP government wants to distract attention from essential issues. “Any discussion on issues such as unemployment, agriculture inflation is sought to be suppressed through diversions,” he said.
Soren alleged that Das had first tried to play with tribal sentiments by proposing amendments in the CNT and SPT Acts. The Government was trying to erase the very identity of the tribal people by amending the CNT & SPT Acts. I am of the opinion that these acts are symbols of tribal life and any move to change it might trigger social unrest, he noted.
