Hemant Government to reintroduce 1932 Khatian-Based Local Policy Bill in Winter Session

Ranchi: The Hemant Soren government in the state is set to reintroduce the 1932 Khatian-based local policy bill during the upcoming winter session. The proposal is slated to be presented in the cabinet meeting scheduled for December 15, as confirmed by JMM MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu after a meeting of ruling party MLAs at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Despite the Governor’s previous return of the proposal with a message, the government remains steadfast in bringing it back to the House. A strategic session was held during the day, chaired by Hemant Soren, where ruling party ministers and MLAs discussed plans for the winter session.
Congress Legislature Party leader and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Alam expressed the government’s commitment to addressing public concerns and ensuring productive proceedings in the House. He emphasized the joint responsibility of the ruling party and the opposition for the smooth functioning of the House during the short session.
JMM MLA Sudivya Kumar Saenu highlighted the government’s dedication to serving the public and urged cooperation from the opposition. Minister Banna Gupta emphasized the government’s focus on youth welfare and upcoming appointments, reassuring that questions related to the Dheeraj Sahu cash scandal or ED would be addressed in the House. The nature of the local policy will be discussed at an appropriate time following the bill’s reintroduction.
