Helmet checking drive at Jadugora

Jamshedpur: City police carried out a road safety awareness campaign in Jadugora here on Friday. The drive was led by ASI Anil Kumar Singh. Police officials made an appeal to motorists to wear helmet and follow road safety rules sincerely to avoid road accidents. They warned motorists against flouting speed limit and other traffic norms in the larger interest of public.

Under the campaign, a helmet checking drive was launched near UCIL rear gate. Traffic cops caught 75 motorists without helmet and released them after warning. ASI Anil Kumar Singh said in most cases where drivers do not wear helmets, death is the inevitable result. He said such incidents shocked and shattered the society. He said the helmet checking drive was being carried out under the instructions of the SP.
