Heat wave warning in Jamshedpur: Residents urged to prioritize health safety

Jamshedpur, April 28: The Meteorological Department issued a heat wave/hot wind warning for the forthcoming days, advising residents to remain cautious. With rising temperatures, persons of all age groups were susceptible to health issues such as unconsciousness, muscle stiffness, seizures, irritability, headaches, excessive sweating, weakness, dizziness, rapid breathing and heartbeat, and vomiting.

District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal urged residents to prioritize their health safety amidst the heat wave. Mittal emphasized the harmful effects of venturing outdoors during extreme heat and advised against it. Even minor negligence could lead to heat stroke, potentially resulting in severe consequences.

Residents were advised to seek immediate medical attention in case of any health-related issues and were reassured that health centers had an adequate supply of ORS powder and essential medicines to address such concerns.
