Jamshedpur, Nov 14: On the occasion of Children’s Day, Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation (TSFIF) organised Annual Healthy Baby Competition on Friday, Nov 14.
The annual event aimed to educate parents on immunisation, breastfeeding practices, nutrition and adoption of temporary/permanent methods of family planning by young parents.
This year, preliminary round was conducted in all the 12 clinics run by the TSFIF doctors and team in Jamshedpur. The criteria for short listing the babies included meeting health criteria for the babies as well as awareness level of the mothers.
A total of 96 babies were shortlisted from among 800 babies from 12 clinics for the final round held at TSFIF, Kadma. Chief Judge on the occasion Dr. B. R. Master adjudged champion baby girl and baby boy.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest, Mrs Jolly Sunil lauded the role of Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation in providing maternal and child healthcare services for more than five decades. She emphasised on the importance of nutrition in child’s growth.
She congratulated all the mothers who participated in the annual event and gave prizes to the mothers of winners.
Biren Bhuta, Chief, CSR, Tata Steel, Dr. P C Mohapatra, Head, Family Initiatives, Tata Steel and Health, Dr. Pushpa Tiwari, Jt. Administrator, TSFIF and staff members attended the programme. Dr. Poonam Mehta, Dr. Nutan Dayal, Dr. Neelam Mercy Toppo, Dr Jaya Moitra, Mrs Rama Khanna, Ms Nishi Thakur and Mrs. Padma were judges for final round.
