Jamshedpur: The health sub centre of district health department situated at Asanbani, Potka, was shifted to the Primary Health Centre, on Friday. It was constructed in the pre-Independence era. It was jointly inaugurated today by the MLA of Potka Menka Sardar, district civil surgeon SK Jha, Zila Parishad president Bulu Rani Singh, vice president Rajkumra Singh, member Pratima Rani Mandal and CDPO Durgesh Nandini. The new PHC has been built at a cost of Rs 1.79 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said she would raise the demand for the upgradation of the health sub centre into primary health centre (PHC) in the Jharkhand Assembly. She said she would try to get special status and better healthcare facilities at the sub centre. She also assured to provide ambulance to the people through the MLA�s fund.
The civil surgeon said the sub centre would soon be developed to provide better healthcare facilities to the people of the region.
The medical officer in-charge of Potka community health centre Dr Dhananjay Dhavariya said the sub centre has one ANM and a ward attendant at present. He said normal deliveries can be had at the sub centre at present. There are two beds at the sub centre, he added.
