Health minister distributes garments under Sona Soran Dhoti Saree scheme in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 10: State health minister and Jamshedpur West MLA Banna Gupta distributed clothes among beneficiaries of Sona Sobran Dhoti Saree Yojana at Gandhi Maidan in Mango and at Ganesh Puja ground in Kadma.

The eligible beneficiaries of Sona Sobran Dhoti-Sari Scheme run by state food and supplies department were given clothes for only Rs 10 each by the health minister.

On this occasion, he said that the poor people do not have to think about covering their bodies, so the Sona Sobran Dhoti-Sari scheme has been started for the poor people and they can get the clothes twice in a year as part of this scheme from the PDS shops.

Banna Gupta informed that under the ambitious ‘Sona-Sobran Dhoti Sari Scheme’ of the Government of Jharkhand, through the PDS shops in the state, the eligible beneficiaries are given dhoti/lungi twice a year for Rs 10.

Sarees will be distributed in the ratio of 60:40. He said that even during the pandemic, Sona Sobran Dhoti Saree distribution program has been started under the development plan. The government stands with the people in their happiness and sorrow.

This scheme will benefit 58 lakh people belonging to below poverty line in the state.

Executive Officer Mango Municipal Corporation Deepak Sahai and other concerned officials and public representatives were present on the occasion.
