Health minister Banna demands AIIMS for Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Ranchi in Centre’s health meet

Jamshedpur, May 6:  A three-day Swasthya Chintan Shivir organized by the Union health ministry at Kevadiya, Gujarat.

Health minister Banna Gupta, additional chief secretary, Health, Arun Kumar Singh and program director of Jharkhand State AIDS Control Society, Bhuvnesh Pratap Singh represented Jharkhand in the camp.

During the Chintan Shivir, the senior officials of the Health Department of the Government of India were made aware of the problems like malnutrition prevailing in Jharkhand.

It was also told that despite being rich in mineral wealth, Jharkhand is backward because this state has been deprived of its rights. The main reason for this is that Jharkhand has always been biased while selecting the ambitious schemes of the central government. Minister Banna Gupta said that the development of the states should not be hindered in political competition. Whether there is a government of any party in the states, the Center should not adopt double standards in the allocation of schemes.

Minister Banna Gupta demanded three AIIMS for Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Ranchi. He urged the Union Health Minister to provide booster dose free of cost to the elderly. Jharkhand is a poor state, it is not appropriate to burden the people here with the booster dose charges.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya presided the Chintan Shivir. The objective of this conference is to review the implementation of policies and programs relating to the medical and public health sectors and to recommend ways and means of better implementation of these policies and programs for the benefit of the common people.
