Noamundi, August 22: As part of Tata Engage programme, Tata Steel at Noamundi and Joda organised two health check-up camps.
The programme was initiated by the Ekta team of Noamundi and Joda. The Ekta team organized two such programmes for the villagers at Mahadevnasa Village, Noamundi and inmates of Residential Bridge Course, at Bungalow No-7,Joda during Aug 20-21, 2016.
The health camp at Mahadevnasa village was organized with an objective to create awareness and counsel on basic general health and hygiene. The health check-up included dental, eye check-up, blood test for malaria and general health check-up of children. More than 100 villagers along with children participated in the camp and got free medicines.
On the same lines, a dental health check-up camp was organized for the inmates of Residential Bridge Course at Bungalow No-7, Joda West where 71 children under the age group of 9-14 years were examined and counseled on basic dental care and oral hygiene.
During the check-up, it was found that most of the children were suffering anomalies in oral cavity due to lack of iron and calcium in their diet and for further treatment, referral was done to Joda Hospital.
Tata Steel Ekta team which has been formed by enthusiastic women employees of Raw Materials Division is organizing this type of programmes on a regular basis in nearby areas.
Employee volunteerism under the Tata Engage programme is a feature of Tata Steel where employees engage with community with a purpose.
