Headless body recovered in Jehanabad

Jehanabad: Panic gripped the residents of Jehanabad in Bihar after the recovery of a beheaded body on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Ram Swaroop Manjhi, a resident of Ikkil village, who worked as an exorcist.

According to reports, he is suspected to be murdered in superstition. Police recovered the body by digging the banks of the canal in Ikkil village under Makhdumpur police limits.
The deceased was missing for the last four days. According to his relatives, a child of Lalman Manjhi of the village had died a month back. There was a dispute with the deceased Ramswaroop Manjhi in this connection and it is suspected that he was brutally killed with a sharp weapon. The criminals buried his body to hide evidence. Family members of the victim had informed the police about the disappearance of Manjhi a few days ago.

On being informed, police started an investigation and during the probe it was found that soil has been dug in the Badhar of the village. When the police removed the soil, the headless dead body was recovered. After which the police seized the dead body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

The SDPO said that his family members had reported that Ramswaroop Manjhi was missing since last Friday. In this connection, the police have registered a case and started searching for the criminals.
