Headless� body of a 19-year-old girl found hanging from a tree near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov. 12 : A �headless� body of a 19-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree at a jungle in Bodam in Patamda while, the another body of a 38-year-old man was found lying along the railway track in Adityapur.

The body of the girl which was found at Bodam jungle was identified as that of Saraswati Singh, a resident of Beldih village in Bodam.

The girl’s head was found fitted in the `dupatta’ tied to a tree where as her decomposed body was lying in a bush beneath the tree.  Near the headless body was lying a cellphone which belonged to the deceased.

According to police, the deceased who was a resident of Tetlo village in Barabazar thana area in Purulia district of Bengal was staying at her maternal uncle’s house at Beldi village in Bodam.

OC, Bodam police station, Kajal Kumar Dubey said that the girl had left her house on October 28 morning, after telling her mother Sukrumuni Singh that she was going to her house at Tetlo.

” We are investigating the incident, though the girl might have been killed or committed suicide about 15 days ago, her mother Sukrumuni came to know about her daughter’s death last evening only when someone found the body of the girl and a severed head in a dupatta.  After Sukrumuni identified the body, she had turned up before the Bodam police station informed about the incident,” said Dubey.

 The OC said they had inspected the spot where the body was found and during the inspection they found a cellphone from the spot. ” We will study call details record of the cell number and will try to find out exactly what might have meted out to the girl, causing her to get killed or commit suicide,” said the OC.

The police have sent the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem having registered a case under Section unnatural death.

The body that was found from the railway track was identified as that of Kanhailal Jana, a resident of Barsole in Ghatshila sub-division.
