Jamshedpur: Jharkhand High Court has directed Tayo Rolls management to pay the salary dues of its 280 employees pending for the last seven months. The order was passed by the court of Justice Aparesh Kumar during the hearing of PIL (6696/2016/PIL) on Wednesday.
During the hearing, Advocate Varun Kumar Sinha representing Tayo Sangharsh Samiti, an association of the Tayo employees, informed the court that the Labour Secretary of Jharkhand government SKG Rahate had asked the company management not to shut down Tayo Rolls.
The HC is reported to have asked the management to file an affidavit by 3rd May and tell the court as to when will the salary arrears be disbursed to the employees.
The Labour Secretary of Jharkhand had received an application from the company on its closure. Hearing the matter on 27th October last, he had reportedly dismissed the application.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of Tayo Sangharsh Samiti said they had full faith in the judiciary. He said the employees were concerned about the future of their families, especially education of their children.
