Jamshedpur, June 25: The Jagriti Yatra that was flagged off from Bidar in Karnataka reached the city after covering a distance of more than 15 thousand kilometers. The Jagriti Yatra which is visiting various points in the country and may also visit Pakistan has been taken out to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak the founder of the Sikh religion. The Jagriti Yatra contains the 350 year old hand written Guru Granth Sahib in the lap of a palanquin of the vehicle. The Jagriti Yatra is being accorded a warm and huge reception at various city points it is visiting by not only the Sikh community but by members of other communities as well.
BJP district president Dinesh Kumar also joined the Yatra and took blessings. He said he sought blessings for the peace and prosperity of Jharkhand. He observed on the occasion, �Guru Nanak Devji was the saint of saints. He devoted his life to preaching love and amicability beyond the realms of caste, creed and religion. I am feeling privileged to have seen the 350 year old hand written Guru Granth Sahib.�
District BJYM president Amarjit Singh Raja, BJP district general secretary Anil Modi and Rakesh Singh also joined the procession and took blessings. Others in the procession included Baridih Gurudwara Pradhan Jaspal Singh, Birsanagar Gurudwara Pradhan Roshan Singh, Balbir Singh Bablu, Surendra Singh Shinde, Sukhwinder Singh, Ranjit Singh of Sikh Youth Brigade, Inderjit Singh Inder, Satvinder Singh, Rajdip Singh, Jagjit Singh, Hardip Singh and others.
