Jamshedpur: In a disturbing incident, criminals opened fire in Mararpada, Jugsalai, resulting in injuries to two youths, Mohd Majeed of Jugsalai and Mahfooz Alam of Mango. The perpetrators, identified as Altamash, Sabbo, Mujahid alias Bablu, and Bikki, fled the scene after the attack. The victims were promptly taken to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) for medical treatment, where they are currently undergoing care.
Providing an account of the incident, Mohammad Majeed stated that he and his friend Mahfooz were returning home after attending a party when they were confronted by Altamash, Sabbo, Mujahid, and Bikki near Murga Chowk. An argument ensued, leading to Bikki brandishing a pistol and firing six rounds. Majeed sustained injuries to his hand and waist, while Mahfooz Alam was hit on the palm.
Majeed revealed that the motive behind the attack was Bikki’s extortion demands. Bikki had previously set Majeed’s tire shop near Jugsalai gate on fire for non-payment of extortion money, and the recent gunfire incident was reportedly in continuation of the same dispute. The police are currently investigating the matter.
