Innovative AR/VR Waste Management Model earns Akshat Sarkar national recognition
Jamshedpur, Oct 15: Gulmohur High School student Akshat Sarkar has made the city proud by winning second place in the Middle Coding Category at India’s Biggest Design Championship 2025, organised by ICT 360. Competing on an international platform, Akshat showcased his innovative project titled “A Fully Functional AR/VR-based Identification and Item Waste Sorter,” which combines augmented reality, virtual reality, and automation for sustainable waste management.

After clearing the regional round, Akshat advanced to the Jury Round, where he demonstrated his project’s working model and confidently answered technical questions on advanced tools such as TensorFlow and Mobile.NET. His performance impressed the jury, reflecting both his technical skill and innovative thinking.
This achievement highlights Gulmohur High School’s dedication to nurturing creativity, innovation, and technological excellence among students. The school management congratulated Akshat for his exceptional success and praised his commitment to applying technology for environmental sustainability.
