Jamshedpur, May 11: Gulmohur High School hosted a massive “Unlock Potential: Vote for Progress” event on Friday as part of the #Mein bhi Election Ambassador initiative. The school reached out to all stakeholders – students, teachers, parents, and the local community – to spread awareness about the importance of voting in democracy.
Over 300 parents attended the event, which featured an address by the SDO of Dhalbhum, Parul Singh emphasizing the significance of exercising one’s right to vote. To engage parents in an interactive way, a lively “passing the parcel” game was played in the school auditorium.
The highlight was the cultural program put up by high school students who performed Nukkad Natak that drove home powerful messages about ethical voting. The students also created colourful posters and painted umbrellas with voting-themed artwork that were displayed in the school’s portico area.
A selfie corner was set up in the portico, encouraging parents to click selfies and share them on social media to motivate others to vote. The school pulled out all the stops to make this a truly community-wide celebration of democracy.
“We wanted to do something meaningful that would really drive awareness about the upcoming elections,” said Principal Priti Sinha. “Getting students, parents and the larger community invested in this process is crucial for a healthy democracy. It was awesome to witness a well coordinated event that was planned and implemented by the Gulmohur Team in just few hours! ‘
