Jamshedpur: A case of alleged attempt to rape came to light on Friday when a patient admitted to the MGM Hospital accused a security guard with the offence.
Police sources said the accused, Shambhu Soren, a guard deployed in the government hospital, allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of a woman from Ghatsila. The alleged victim was admitted for treatment of injuries she sustained during a brawl in Ghatsila.
The accused reportedly tried to rape her in the wee hours. Several patients in the ward noticed the incident and raised an alarm. The guard ran away in panic while the victim complained to the authorities seeking arresting of the accused.
Sakchi police said they had not received any written complaint against the guard as yet. They said they were investigating into the incident and searching for the accused.
