This initiative aimed at providing free rice packets to all green ration card holders, eliciting enthusiastic participation from beneficiaries who queued up outside the PDS shops from 8 am onwards.
Bhajantri personally inspected various PDS shops in the urban area to oversee the successful implementation of the Green Card Rice Distribution Festival Day. During the inspection, he engaged with beneficiaries, gathering feedback on the timely receipt of benefits from government schemes such as food grains/ration, Dhoti Saree scheme, Ayushman Card, Sarvajan Pension, housing, scholarships, Chief Minister Employment Generation, and Savitri Bai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana.
The DC urged beneficiaries who were not availing the benefits to apply promptly and offered valuable suggestions. He emphasized the importance of making people aware of government schemes to ensure that 100 percent eligible beneficiaries receive their entitled benefits.
Bhajantri announced that the Green Card Rice Distribution Celebration Day would be observed every month. The campaign aims to raise awareness about government schemes and guarantee that eligible beneficiaries receive full benefits. He instructed officials to ensure that all cardholders receive the proper quantity of food grains without any deductions.
Expressing his commitment to providing timely food grains to eligible beneficiaries, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Supply Department Officer to ensure that all cardholders receive ration on time in PDS shops. He warned of strict action against negligent PDS shopkeepers and urged officials to address any distribution-related issues with mutual coordination.
DC emphasized the need for prompt resolution of any problems and instructed officials to keep beneficiaries updated even if there are delays. Looking ahead, he directed Special Division Officers, District Supply Officers, Marketing Officers, and Block Supply Officers to systematically organize the Green Card Rice Distribution Festival Day in the coming months. The goal is to create awareness among beneficiaries to ensure they reach their respective PDS shops on time and receive their allotted ration.
“ It is our primary responsibility to provide timely food grains to the eligible beneficiaries of the district. All concerned officials should ensure that there is no negligence of any kind in the distribution of food grains. Strict action will also be taken against negligent PDS shopkeepers. If there is any problem in distribution of food grains, it should be resolved with mutual coordination. Even if there is a delay due to some reason, keep updating the beneficiaries,” said the senior official.
